Packaging and Storage Information

We take great pride in the care and preservation of our fungi. All of our fungi comes vacuum sealed in BPA free, food grade pouches. A dessicant pack is included in each pouch to ensure any residual moisture that may be left behind is absorbed. Cracker dry fungi is important as moisture degrades the active alkaloids, diminishing potency over time and provides a breeding ground for microbes/mold. We dehydrate our fungi at 160F for 18hrs to insure they are absolutely free of all moisture and package within hours of dehydration being complete. If the entire contents of the pouch are not used at once, it is important to reseal them in a ziploc bag, etc. to keep out air. You should transfer the dessicant pack to your secondary ziploc bag. Air, heat (above 250F), light and moisture all degrade psilocin/psilocybin over time. Keeping your fungi away from these elements will insure prolonged potency. Left vacuum sealed in our packages and away from heat and light, your fungi will just as potent as when fresh for several years. Once removed, fungi should be consumed within 3 months for maximum potency. If you did not receive your fungi in a package like the ones pictured above, it is not Jimmy's Serious Gourmet Shit!

The strain name, potency stars (out of 5) and net weight of the package is located on the label along with a QR code linking to the lab results for that strain. Be sure to always remove the dessicant pack prior to grinding your mushrooms up as it can be inadvertently dumped into your grinder and not noticed. Dessicant packs should not be eaten and should be discarded once you are finished with your fungi.
